The METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line is powering towards completion, with all tracks laid and two of five stations finished.

The new 21-kilometre line will feature 5 new stations at Morley, Noranda, Ballajura, Whiteman Park and Ellenbrook.

The METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line will be a game changer for Ellenbrook residents, taking passengers into the heart of Perth in just 30 minutes with no need to transfer trains, and the cost of a two-zone fare.

This is almost half the current travel time for local residents using public transport.

In further great news, our locally built and manufactured passenger C-series trains are rolling out onto our network.

We’re proud to be manufacturing these trains here in WA – it’s the first time in 30 years we’ve had locally made trains enter services.

Over the 10 years of the project – we will deliver 41 new six-car C-series trains – providing a major pipeline of work and employment opportunities for local businesses in Perth.

In the lead up to the 2017 election, we committed to bringing railcar manufacturing back to WA – and that is exactly what we’ve done.

Ellenbrook Station

It’s been a long journey since we first committed to building the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Train Station in opposition, so it is incredible to unveil the first completed station in Ellenbrook.

The people living in the Ellenbrook community and surrounds have waited a long time for a train station - with the previous Government promising and never delivering.

The new station is adjacent to the town centre and includes a 12-stand bus interchange, 500 parking bays (including ACROD) and will get people to the CBD in just 30min.

This was the first station on the line to start and the first to finish and when it opens later this year, together with the other stations on the line, it will mean a 30 min trip to the city, cutting public transport travel times by half.

I am proud our Government got on with the job and delivered this much needed public transport infrastructure.

Whiteman Park Station

The Whiteman Park Station is rapidly taking shape. The new station, part of the METRONET Morley - Ellenbrook Line, will help create a new way to reach this incredible tourist attraction. It will also serve the growing Brabham and Dayton communities. The 10 bus stands are taking shape, along with the new station and carparks.

Whiteman Park Station will connect an important tourist attraction and growing residential community to the greater Perth area. A comfortable 25-minute train ride to or from the city centre, the station is being built just south of the Drumpellier Drive entrance to Whiteman Park and will serve the growing communities of Brabham, Dayton, Henley Brook and West Swan.

Our Government is also extending the heritage tram line all the way to the new Whiteman Park Station. The tramway is an iconic piece of Perth’s history and its extension to the new train station will provide a unique way for tourists to access Whiteman Park.

Ballajura Station

Malaga Station, now officially named Ballajura Station, reflects Ballajura’s vibrant community and their passion for the long-awaited train line.

This is the second of the five stations complete on the Morley-Ellenbrook Rail Line - we made a commitment and now we are delivering.

Soon, people will be able to use this station when the Morley-Ellenbrook Line opens - one of our state’s most important public transport initiatives.

To help more people walk or ride to the new Ballajura Station, our Government is building a new footbridge over Tonkin Highway. This will be a game-changer, making it even easier for local residents to access the new station.

And once opened, it will service the roughly 50,000 residents currently living in and around the area, and of course the thousands more who will one day call this community home.
