Work has commenced on the new sports pavilion at Ellenbrook Christian College, with Transport Minister Rita Saffioti visiting the project site today to turn the first sod.
The Cook Government provided $2.8 million of funding towards the new pavilion, as part of the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line project.
The new pavilion will include a kitchen, changerooms, toilets, undercover spectators' area and storage rooms, and incorporate the existing basketball courts.
The State Government has worked closely with Ellenbrook Christian College since the Morley-Ellenbrook Line's planning phase to ensure minimal disruption to students.
Works are progressing continue to progress on the Morley-Ellenbrook Line, with the project expected to be complete in late-2024.
The 21-kilometre line and five new stations will service Perth's north-east suburbs to support existing communities by improving transport connections and creating new communities through integrated station precincts.
