Construction of our State’s new screen production facility is now underway, with doors to open to host first production in 2026!
We know the screen production industry is becoming increasingly important to our national economy, with nearly $2.5 billion spent in the last financial year.
This new facility will allow us to tap into this, attracting more national and international productions to our State, creating jobs and diversifying our economy.
Once complete, we’ll have a state-of-the-art studio, complete with:
- Four purpose-built sound stages for indoor film production
- Four production offices, art department, hair, makeup and wardrobe, green rooms and meeting rooms
- Studio backlot for controlled outdoor sets
- Workshops and set storage
This is massive for our local film and TV industry, and a critical part of our plan to diversify our economy, attract more productions to WA and set up our State for the long term!
And during construction, 600 local direct and indirect new jobs will be created, including construction workers, contractors and trades, as well as indirect businesses servicing the site like trucks, equipment, fencing and landscaping. Another big win!
